Rob & Hannah are getting hitched!

1pm, Friday 13 June 2025 · Octagon Chapel, Norwich

Please join us on Friday 13 June 2025 to celebrate our wedding at the Octagon Chapel in Norwich.

Hannah’s Story

Hannah grew up by the sea in Kent before moving to Norwich (the best city in the world) for university at 19 to study English Literature. Her enchanting smile is matched only by her unbridled love for cats, swimming in the sea and making beautiful art.

Rob’s Story

Rob was born and raised in Birmingham, spending much of his childhood singing all over Europe in various choirs (perhaps predicted by his ‘small German child’ look above). He has always been passionate about games, films and books and studied creative writing and film at Kingston and UEA.

Our Relationship

We first met ten years ago this year, in line for Dismaland in Weston-Super-Mare. Unbeknownst to us, we were being set up! However, we stupidly took another four years to get together in 2019, but have been inseparable ever since. Getting married seems like the most natural and obvious thing - of course we have to get married! - and we can’t wait to spend this special day with you.

What to wear

We want you to feel comfortable and joyful in whatever you choose to wear. Dress to impress! If you’d like to go old-school and wear a hat, go for it! Fancy wearing a neon mini dress? Great! Kilt? Suit? Whatever you feel best in. Feel free to be as traditionally wedding-attired, or not, as you prefer.

As we are getting married on Friday 13th we thought it would be fun if everyone wear something they feel is lucky - your lucky pants, a horseshoe necklace, a little shamrock or, perhaps - as one of Hannah’s friends has suggested - a dress covered in (a lucky number of) magpies. This is not compulsory, but it would be great fun if you fancy it - go as bold or subtle with this as you want.

We would ask that you please not come dressed entirely casually (think hoodies and jogging bottoms) or wearing a white dress.

Arrival

12:30

Please arrive at the Octagon Chapel for 12:30.

Please click on the ‘Location & Tips’ page for a map and further information.

The Ceremony

1pm

At 1pm in the Octagon Chapel the main ceremony will begin, as conducted by our fantastic celebrant John-Henry (a.k.a. The Storybeast). We are expecting this to last around 45 minutes.

After this, you will head out to the garden for a drink while our legal ceremony takes place privately.

We would ask please that any babies are taken outside for the duration of the ceremony - there are lots of great cafes very nearby which are baby-friendly, most notably The Merchant’s House.

The Reception

After the ceremony we will all process together to the reception, which will take place at the Curious Directive, approximately 4 minutes from the Octagon Chapel. Please do not leave for the reception before the bride and groom.

Please note that as this is a city centre wedding the gate to the reception location will be locked, so you will need to notify staff if you need to leave and, if you are arriving late, will need to let us know in advance so that we can ensure a member of staff is at the gate to meet you.

After we arrive, there will be snacks available, and you will receive a token to order a drink of your choice from the bar. This is also when a small number of formal photos with Rob’s family, Hannah’s family and the bridesmaids and groomsmen will take place.
